RACIAL INJUSTICE
RACIAL INJUSTICE
A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Over the past several months our nation and world have been plagued by COVID-19. With its effects being felt in every home, we saw it as our responsibility to inform you of our biblical views that shape our stance and strategy in battling this overwhelming storm.
Once again, we find ourselves being plagued by another type of virus. Although this virus is much more familiar to us, its symptoms are more inconspicuous, and its repercussions more deadly. And so, once again, we see it as our responsibility to inform you of our biblical views that shape our stance and strategy in battling the overwhelming storm of racism and racial injustice. These biblical views were at the very foundation of FCM’s conception and continue to fuel our ministry to this day.
As believers in the true, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God, we believe that every person is created in the image of God, and therefore has intrinsic inalienable worth. God, in the overflow of His love, creates people with beautiful differences that are intended to be celebrated. These differences are intended to create a beautiful, multi-cultural, multi-ethnic tapestry that reflects the very nature of God himself. And so, we grieve when we see racial injustices take place, and we commit to stand up for those whose voices have been silenced. We pray for the unity we have in Christ to overcome the divisiveness of racism, and we will work toward that end.
For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever. – Psalm 9:18
